1 year of DJing.
In April 2025 I decided to dive into this hobby that was part of my overahcieving attempt to do more offline hobbies...
If you had told me I would be where I am now... I wouldn't believe you. It truly feels surreal to think of everything I've accomplished in that time.
In a year since I started this: I've secured a bar residency, played a wedding, played at London Fashion Week, and truly pushed myself out of my comfort zone.
I'm still figuring out my sound and working on my mixing, but I am grounding myself and saying it's only been a year (+ I feel every DJ says that they're working on this)
Thank you to everyone who has come to hear me play, sent me music recommendations, allowed me to dick around their decks, told me about open decks, gave me mixing lessons, gave me records and DJing gear, plus so so so much more.
The list of appreciation is endless. But there are some special people I'd like to give a shout out to who really helped make this year possible:
-
@dangleg for giving me my first gig and making me put my money where my mouth is
-
@pietro_lgf for letting my play around on his decks and telling me I was good... plus allowing me to record mixes when I was first starting out
-
@dashthehengestore for giving me my first 4 hour set - proving that I could even function DJing for that long
-
@natalieandcalvin for allowing me to curate their wedding
-
@maximilianraynor for trusting with your London Fashion Week afterparty
- John at
@parasolbar for taking a punt on me and allowing me to fill their bar with music at least once a month which has given me so much
I cant say thank you enough to everyone who has welcomed me into this community and supported me through this little sidequest.
Excited to see where the 2nd year of this thing takes me.
