Had so so much fun with this one. I rarely take on monochromatic weddings due to limited garden space, but when this couple gave me the green light on all the greens, I knew it was going to be a special one.🌿🌱 Absolutely loved putting this day together for a dear friend with an absolute heart of gold and her new hubby.
Access to local blooms has been made easier this year thanks to the hard work of the @sandiegoflowercollective , and my goodness did they turn out on this one. Can we all just take a moment to swoon over these bells of Ireland from @beeworthyfarms ?

This bouquet was everything, this wedding was everything.
Back in 2022, I started growing flowers for my own wedding. My wedding florist (who is also a grower) and I became fast friends, and as a result of her mentorship and the fulfillment that I found through growing, Front Yard Florals was born.
Fast forward 3 years, only to open my inbox to an inquiry from a fellow small scale grower determined to grow her own wedding flowers alongside her mom. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get emotional on our first call together.. just felt so full circle.

When this purple Agrostemma bloomed, it immediately made me think of my dear neighbor, Jeff. Jeff was one of the weirdest, brightest, most colorful dudes I’ve ever met.
Often, I would come home carrying massive buckets of flowers onto the porch, to find Jeff peacefully enjoying the evening breeze. A quick hello would snap Jeff out of wherever he was, and I’d be met with a smile and a chuckle at the sudden realization that I was talking to him and that there were flowers everywhere.
With Jeff in his chair and me leaned over the porch rail, he and I had dozens, if not hundreds, of incredible conversations about everything and anything you could possibly imagine. Conversations with Jeff were never mundane. Strangely, we rarely talked about our lives or our days, but we got to know each other on a more bizarre and philosophical level. If you knew him, you know what I’m talking about.
Jeff cared so deeply about the people in his radius, and I truly feel so honored to have been a part of that for a short while.
Today, we celebrate his life, which was truly a magical, weird, and rad one. Love you, neighbor 🫶🏻💕
