don’t forget the LUAG art exhibit is still up until the 22nd of may. it celebrates 100 years and 100 local artists!
our featured artist, Jessica Shannon, @jessminiart has a work in the exhibit. in fact, this very work. imagine if dollhouses were made not of materialistic dreams but of the fabrics, the materials, of reality.
these days many rows of old crafted homes are torn down and replaced by five-story pop-up buildings made in the uninspired architecture of efficient capitalism. with housing that looks like warehousing. with buildings that don’t celebrate the unique creative innovative human spirit.
support your local artists, business owners, friends! or the homes of their internal resolve shall look as the blue building on the end. a community is a garden and nothing tastes better than things fresh and homegrown.

Being a mother has shifted my sense of self in more ways than one. It has strengthened my being and deepened my perspective on this human experience; how I show up in the world, the lessons I leave behind for my little, the habits I nurture in a growing human.
Mothers are the truest warriors! Carrying so much, yet remaining the strength + the root of the spirits they raise and inspire. To all the nurturers out there: you are powerful, worthy, and deserving of everything you desire.

Armani is a Lehigh Valley based creative blending house, club, hardgroove and everything in between into bouncy, rhythmic sets. He is the founder of @senseof.studio , a local design studio specializing in art direction, branding and graphic design. Armani also curates monthly playlists and is looking to start his own radio series this summer, under the studio, titled “Sense Of. Radio” ✨
Our Panadería is cozy but, weather permitting, we will have plenty of seats set up en el patio for you to chill.
Come show Armani some love and, stay a while!

we are delighted to introduce the first bethl’mite card of the month of may (there shall be two)! and the newest location where you can pick up a card: lehigh university art galleries!! @luartgalleries
if you are unfamiliar with the location of such a place it is located on the first floor of the same building as the zoellner arts center building on southside bethlehem. it houses a splendid permanent collection and always such tasteful and immaculate visiting exhibitions!
the current exhibit is called Here and Now: 100 Years of LUAG, 100 Local Artists. it celebrates…. 100 years of lehigh university art galleries and 100 local artists! the closing party of the exhibition is may 9th. the event’s free to the public, as the galleries always are! and the art shall remain fixed upon the walls until may 22nd!

tarah is a great observer with a keen eye for capturing moments that happen in the periphery of doings. often we are so focused on where we’re going and how fast we’re doing it instead of observing the miraculous embellishments of life and world, racing with and against shadows of our selves and the world beyond. tarah’s work captures just that. this piece can be seen at the exhibit!
since the photo is in black and white we added some porta-potty/spring green to the other side for you!

Forced Rhubarb is one of the first signs of the season shifting!
Grown in darkness, it draws from the energy stored in its roots, giving it a softer texture and a gentler, sweeter flavor than the Rhubarb that comes later in Spring. It doesn’t last very long, which makes it feel even more special when it arrives.
This week, we’re making a Sourdough Danish topped with Arroz con Leche de Coco, finished with Forced Rhubarb poached in a syrup of local Ginger (@wonder.garden.llc ), Cardamom, and Star Anise + a lil sprinkle of a Salted Almond Crumble for good measure. Que ricuraaaa!
