A couple weeks ago, we were able to have a meeting with NYC agencies to discuss the cleanliness and maintenance of Malcolm X Plaza. Malcolm X Plaza is located at between 110th and 111th st on Malcolm X Boulevard, and is one of the few gateways to Harlem. The Friends of Malcolm X Plaza are so excited about the work being done on the boulevard as it’s an incredible place for our community events! In this meeting we discussed clean up schedules to make sure that the stakeholders and city agencies can all work together to keep this wonderful space ready for the community to enjoy. The Agencies involved include: MTA, NYC Parks, NYC Sanitation, NYC DOT, the Doe Fund, and the Central Park Conservancy. The stakeholders from The Friends of Malcolm X plaza who were present: Masjid Malcolm Shabazz, Second Canaan Baptist Church, 116th Community Association, and Harlem Heritage tours. Thank you so much to all the agency and stakeholders representatives that came out to this historic meeting on Malcolm X Plaza.
