Wonderland has arrived in New York. We're thrilled to introduce Alice of Wonderland Visiting New York, a WPA mural series by artist Abram Champanier that is part of the NYC Health + Hospitals Arts in Medicine collection — and soon to be featured in Another Wonderland, opening June 6th at the Museum of the City of New York. Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing a few panels at a time.

Callin' all dogs - therapy dogs, that is!
@jacobincbhosp is officially accepting applications for its Therapy Dog Training Program. The program allows trained volunteers to bring their furry friends into the hospital setting to interact with patients who request a visit. Interacting with a trained therapy dog can help patients in long term recovery by reducing stress and anxiety, as well as feelings of loneliness. This can result in improved moods, and lowering blood pressure for patients.
Does your dog have what it takes?! Then sign up! The deadline to apply is May 17.

I'll be honest—I get a little nervous every time I go for a mammogram. But I also know exactly how necessary they are. My mother is a breast cancer survivor, and early detection is the reason she is still with us today, 80 years young! 🌸
This week, I went to NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens for my screening. I want to send a huge thank you to the incredible team at @nychealthsystem Queens for making the process smooth, comforting, and informative.
This Mother’s Day, my message to all the mothers, grandmas, aunties, and women in our community is simple: please prioritize your health. Schedule your mammogram. Remind the women you love to get theirs. Early detection truly saves lives!
Happy Mother’s Day, Southeast Queens! 💕

Did you know a mural in Queens was once accused of being secret propaganda? 🧐
Artist William Palmer’s WPA mural at Elmhurst Hospital features a panel called "Controlled Medicine." While a book on the WPA later suggested it was a push for socialized medicine, Palmer pushed back in a 1964 interview, explaining that his research focused on scientific advancement—not politics.
Next time you’re at Elmhurst Hospital, take a closer look at the history on the walls! 🏥🎨
