Last year my @friendsof___ asked me if I wanted to work on another music video (or two) together after the success of creating a silly and whimsical video for his single “Mushroom Disco”. I said yes but only if we could film the videos on location in Mexico City, featuring the artists on the tracks who live there, and celebrating elements of the city that they love and we do too. The results make my heart melt. We had the pleasure of popping around to a few touristy spots yes, but also filming inside some our friends studios, homes, and businesses and including local artisans, people we met on the street, and an assortment of serendipitous energy bringing these stories to life. We filmed around the weekend of Dia de Los Meurtos so there’s a certain magical quality in the air in the visuals we created during such a vibrant time.
