Thank you for journeying with Frida over these six months. It has been a great privilege to share the work of artists whose practices we deeply admire within our humble space. After Frida’s recent outing to Korea, we have decided to bring her back home for one last show. Frida is delighted to announce that Daniel Gustav Cramer’s presentation will open tomorrow at our window. He presents a new work titled, Abi in the mountains, a piece that is quintessentially Daniel, a piece about love, the weather, the view; a beautiful way for us to say goodbye. – Daniel Gustav Cramer (b. 1975, Neuss, Germany) lives and works in Berlin. Solo shows included Musée d’Art et d’Archéologie d’Aurillac (FR), Kunsthalle Mulhouse (FR), Kunsthalle Lissabon (PT), Kunsthaus Glarus (CH), Documentahalle, Kassel (DE), Kunstverein Nürnberg (DE), Salts, Biersfelden (CH), Tongewölbe t25, Ingolstadt (DE). CAC Contemporary Art Centre, Vilnius (LT), Vera Cortes (PGL), Sies + Höke, (GER), SpazioA (IT), MArtine Abooucya (FR). His work has been shown in group exhibitions including Manifesta 14, Pristina (XK), dOCUMENTA(13), Kassel, (DE); Artists Space, NYC (USA); Cura, Rome, (IT); Museu Coleção Berardo, Lisbon (PT); NMNM Monaco, (MO); Palais de Tokyo, Paris, (FR); Piano Nobile, Geneva, (CH); Witte de With, Rotterdam (NL); IAC FRAC, Villeurbanne, (FR); Misk Art Center, Riyadh (KSA); Frankfurter Kunstverein, Frankfurt (DE); Mudam, Luxemburg (LU); Renaissance Society, Chicago (USA). @xxdgcxx danielgustavcramer.com – On view every day and night from 11 February 2024 – 14 February 2024. DM for more info. – Address: 226G Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 #02-671 Singapore 567226

Still Life #194 2023 Jodi Tan Acrylic on canvas – Still Life (2015 - present, ongoing) is a series of work which takes reference from the now-mundane influx of 2D media that I come across daily on the internet. The title Still Life refers to my process of painting the found, flat, two-dimensional image as if I were painting a still life setting in person. By diverting away from standard rules of image-making, the work disrupts our learnt sense of logic, guiding the viewer to take alternative routes in their readings of the image.  – On view from 29 December 2023 – 20 January 2024 at YPC SPACE, Seoul, Korea DM us for more info or visit @ypc.seoul . – Untitled by Han Gene is on display concurrently at our window in Singapore. DM for location.

Currently hanging by a window in Seoul, Korea is a painting by Jodi Tan (@jd_tn ), a painter from Singapore whose quiet but consistent practice we resonate with deeply. We are very grateful to YPC SPACE (@ypc.seoul ) for the opportunity to bring Frida and Jodi’s work out of our island, and for sending Han Gene’s (@hangene ) work which currently hangs at our window in Singapore. Frida's pop-up at YPC SPACE is part of their exhibition How to Become Collective(s), an exhibition that explores how various independent initiatives from around the world contribute to their respective ecosystems whilst positioning themselves outside of these systems. The exhibition includes Asian Feminist Studio for Art and Research (AFSAR), The Journal of Rat, The White Pube, Wendy's Subway, Yellow Pen Club (YPC), and Frida. – Jodi Tan (b.1990, Singapore) is an artist who draws, paints and sews. Her core interest lies in image-making and image-reading.  @jd_tn cargocollective.com/joditan – 29 December 2023 – 20 January 2024 Visit @ypc.seoul for more info about their exhibition. DM us to visit Frida in Singapore. – This double showing across geographies also marks Frida’s last show for the time being, as we are in the midst of moving out of our current space. It is bittersweet and from the bottom of our hearts we sincerely thank all artists and visitors (human and non-human) for your trust, love, and understanding along this journey 🤍

Untitled 2020 Han Gene Pencil on paper – Han Gene's drawings embody the artist's imaginary encounters with beings she feels close to. Based on her belief that the relationship between humans and objects is organic rather than hierarchical, Gene's free-hand drawing describes bodies as fluid and affective, while romanticizing the inseparable bond between the artist and the beings - be they human or not - around her. – On view from 29 December 2023 – 20 January 2024 DM for location. – Still Life #194 by Jodi Tan is on display concurrently as part of our pop-up at @ypc.seoul . More info on their page.
