The hugest of big news to share today: After what truly seems like an unending eternity, our upstairs space The B-Side Room is finally finished out and ready to host your celebrations, events, shindigs and other happy get-togethers!
A little history for those just joining the chat, when we first opened two-and-a-half years ago we had to make the tough decision to pause the upstairs after getting it roughed in. Doing construction during Covid was no picnic and resulted in numerous delays and cost overruns. So for all this time the area above the taproom has taunted us, languishing in an uncompleted state. A surreal wall blocked the stairway. It existed only as concept, not reality.
We always knew it would all come to fruition, just not when. Well now’s the time. The B-Side offers a separate bar, a projector and big screen, separate bathrooms from downstairs and room for up to 100 people, perfect for birthdays, business retreats, vendor markets, meetings, fundraisers, holidays, watch parties, you get the idea. We’re beyond thrilled about this overdue milestone and can’t wait to party with you. All inquiries can be directed to [email protected].
Special shoutout to our awesome dedicated staff, collaborative ownership, creative contractors @whoiswolf21 and @shawneekansas for believing in the vision and helping us bring it to life as yet another reason @downtownshawneeks is one of the coolest corners of the KC metro.
She’s back! We brought back not one, but two stouts for ya this week. Back in action is a crowd favorite, Steal My Sunshine. Coming in at only 6.7% ABV, this is a classic Friction beer we are glad to have back in the rotation. Go for a full pour, even on a hot day as this is an approachable stout in any weather.
