💿 The Up & Up 💿 We welcome @theupandupwi to the first FM CD comp “Our Time Is Now!” We’re thrilled to have their unreleased track, “Paying Attention,”
on the comp. Here’s a bit about the band…
“For fans of Microwave, The Wonder Years, and Arm’s Length, their sound balances atmospheric
guitar work with anthemic, distortion-driven crescendos. Clean vocals cut through textured lead
lines and dynamic arrangements, building toward emotionally charged peaks with clarity and
control. As Madison poet Thax Douglas put it, they are “a bulldozer made mysterious by being
buried by the days, the grass and dirt.”
Offstage, the four working-class members are spread across the Madison area, writing songs
between full-time jobs and long winters. Their music reflects that reality: the friction between
progressive ideals and rural roots, the uncertainty of aging into adulthood, and the persistence it
takes to keep going anyway. Much of their material is written and rehearsed in a remote,
unheated wood shed—isolated and unpredictable.”

💿 CD COMP 💿 We are thrilled to share the first project through Frequency Midwest (FM)!! “Our Time Is Now” is a compilation CD of some of the hardest hitting punk, pop punk, and emo bands in the midwest and adjacent regions. Available for pre-order now!!
FM will be a hub to spotlight and collaborate with bands throughout the midwest. Over the last 5 years, I’ve built some incredible friendships with so many amazing bands in this area. As a way to highlight these artists, and create a centralized space to share what these bands are up to, FM was created.
This is only the beginning!! We have many more projects, shows, festivals, etc planned and in the works.
We also have a few more spots open for this comp. If you’re in a band from the midwest, or know one you want to see on it, hit us up.
