One year ago we released “I’m So Afraid of Where”.
Making this album was my life’s mission for such a long time. I remember writing the first songs in a basement in Springfield, Illinois in 2020 during the pandemic. I remember those songs following me through hard falling outs with good friends, through a move to a new city, through several major life events, through hours and hours of trying to make the album I always wanted to for this band.
I often think about everyone that’s devoted even a lick of time to this band over the years. All the people I hold dear, and all those that I don’t talk to anymore. I’m grateful for anyone that has given my musical ideas even a modicum of attention or interest.
To be frank, this band doesn’t look the same as it did even a few months ago, and for the first time in 9 years, I’m not sure what the next steps are. I’m trying to figure them out though, and we’ll keep rocking while I do.
Thank you so much for listening to this record over this past year, for hanging out at a show, for singing the words back to us. It means the world to me and always will.
