This Sunday: “The Palestinian Sound Archive explores archival practice as a decolonial methodology and act of resistance, through sharing archival sounds and images that preserve and document Palestinian heritage, culture, celebration, dance and resistance. It is determined to preserve Palestinian audio history through different mediums: by re-releasing music/sound recordings, through club nights and radio sets, through audio-visual installations, live performances and storytelling sessions which situate the music in their cultural, social and political contexts. Working with the archive for the past five years, it has become clear that it is not only the sounds that need to be safeguarded, but the extraordinary histories and experiences of the musicians who made them, which form part of the broader Palestinian story.” The Palestinian Sound Archive Opening screening (3pm) and DJ set this Sunday 30th Nov @clubcheek

next weekend we are joined by one of our dearest friends and an incredible DJ and producer: ~Nora Sigué~ @norasiguemyako Nora Sigué (fka Myako) is a French-Burkinabe DJ and producer. Her DJ sets are a cross-disciplinary view of different niches at the crossroads of dub, UK bass, post punk, techno and DnB. We first met at Free Rotation festival back in 2022 and straight away she felt like family ♥️ Free Movements @clubcheek Sun 30th Nov 3pm-11pm ticket link in bio x

Sun 30th Nov we invite DUBMORPHOLOGY (live/video) @dubmorphology Dubmorphology create sonic and visual environments to navigate the complex and ambiguous territory of social conflict. Founded by artists Trevor Mathison, a founding member of the seminal Black Audio Film Collective, and Gary Stewart of Bantu and the InIVA team, which has done so much to raise the profile of Black artists in Britain. They create experimental sound and visual installations that examine the relationship between culture, history and creativity, reworking historical, political and scientific archives.
