This is the year gender-based violence becomes a voting issue. This is the year we exercise our power as voters to hold elected officials accountable to survivors.
And it starts by asking these 12 questions.Â
Ask your candidates these questions. Listen to their answers. Then share this post and tag your elected officials in the comments.Â
We want leaders in office who will advocate for survivors.
Enough is enough. We are not powerless. Elected officials will prioritize survivors when we demand they do.

300 activists, advocates, First Nations leaders, and funders. One powerful global agenda for ending GBV.
This is what resourcing a global movement looks like.
We were thrilled to gather with @metoomvmt , @mujerxsrising , @theequalityinstitute , and @preventgbv this Sunday in Australia for part two of our “Resourcing a Global Movement” series.
The solidarity. The expertise. The brilliant ideas. We’re carrying these with us, and we’ll be building on them in the months and years to come. What a powerful reminder that we CAN end GBV — together.

We grieve the horrific violence of these last few weeks.
The domestic violence mass shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana that killed eight children and critically injured two mothers.
CNN’s recent exposure of an online rape network.
Political power and secrecy continuing to protect abuse in Congress and the unfolding of the Epstein files.
The murder of Dr. Cerina Fairfax in Virginia.
We know how profoundly triggering these continued acts of violence are for survivors everywhere. To our community: we are with you, always. You are not alone. Your care matters. Your truth matters.
We are in the midst of a systems crisis. These stories aren’t isolated — they are part of the same system that enables, ignores, and minimizes gender-based violence at every level.
We are mourning with you. And we are doubling down on our commitment to changing this reality. Because ending GBV isn’t just a dream. It’s imperative for public safety, democracy and our existence on this planet.

How many women have kept their abuse a secret to protect what they love the most?
These are the choices that patriarchy demands of us.
What else needs to be revealed for us to stop everything and devote all we have to ending gender-based violence?
We love you, Dolores. We’re so sorry this happened to you. Thank you for everything.

After yesterday’s State of the Union address, we are focusing on the state of survivors.
The Survivor Justice Network and over 70 Allies and organizations have released a collective letter to survivors in the wake of the ongoing Epstein file release.
In a moment filled with noise, we are choosing to speak directly to the needs and well-being of survivors.
Too often, there is no acknowledgment of the trauma survivors have endured, and the harm they continue to navigate as this news cycle unfolds in real time.
The release of documents may generate public interest. But this action alone cannot repair the harm that survivors have endured.
Survivors deserve care, support and access to justice.
If this moment feels overwhelming, please know you are not alone. Find the full letter + healing resources under “Resources” in our Linktree.
We are holding you in care.
