I’m constantly amazed & intrigued by the process of writing a song. @emilyjamesmusic mentioned overhearing some girls on the tube talking about their upcoming birthday and how it resonated with her own feelings. I’d been pondering the same thing the day before so it felt like kismet. Writing the song itself felt like such an easy extension of that conversation, a beautiful reminder of why I love doing this so much.
