*** Rain or Sine 2/2 Fuse Fest Old First May 16th 2026 Columbus, OH The Fuse Factory (@thefusefactory ) and A-Side Ambient teamed up to present an evening of power synthesis. Coming off the high of Lisa Bella Donna’s (@lisabelladonna ) exemplar set the night before, Fuse Fest continued with Rain or Sine, A-Side Ambient’s seasonal performance at the sanctuary at Old First. We were fortunate that our spring iteration aligned with Fuse Fest’s stars. Slow Time Travel (@slow.timetravel ) led the way with their cool and cavernous pads and street beats; CoastalDives (@coastaldives ) led us down some roads less traveled in his discography and was immaculate as always; Frederick Foxtrott (@fredfoxtrott ) capped the synth portion off with tracks inspired by the mid-aughts dance floor. @topherguenther led us into the night with a blazing DJ set at the end. It goes without saying that synthesis is an audio/visual practice and as our sounds decorated time, Michael Murtha (@badtripshow ) decorated our space with liquid light, elevating us beyond ourselves. Some may know I used to help run a DIY music space in Ridgewood Queens, my partner in crime was none other than Glen, aka @ridgewoodsoundlab , whose prolific Instagram account brought us together. I just opened my mailbox to see this package with all these stamps. The most Glen packaging ever. He sent me a t-shirt with his logo, which also happened to become the de facto logo of our community space. We had a vision, and I had never seen a situation where no matter how right things went, life kept getting in the way—land lord had other plans and I had to leave NY. I haven’t returned in 21 months. *** Midwest Psych Fest 2/2 Troubadour Farm May 8th and 9th 2026 Galena, OH Once again Midwest Psych Fest has come and gone. This last weekend affirmed for me the joys of smaller music festivals. I believe it is the future and @midwestpsychfest are already there waiting for people to catch up. Let’s go already. Great thanks to the staff and volunteers who made this enormous endeavor a reality. I would like to especially thank @bunjumun for his vision. I think that was the first thing I said to him when I first met him doing sound for his audio/visual installation with @field_spies , “I like your vision.” Well, it’s true. Now for the next chapter. The first day was a challenge with rain, but a special group of artists and musicians and volunteers and campers made it a journey. I found my self at 3AM having a choice conversation about film curation in the open air pouring rain in my favorite cardigan. I loved playing for the happy boppers in the barn. Come see me again. Loved the energy. Also special nod to @brokencircuitmusic , @soundingrodband , and @sineqube for such deep electronic work. Day two, the sun came out a dried things up. It was a perfect day. I cannot wait until next time in whatever form it comes. *** Kyle Gass Mt. Air April 4th 2026 Rumba Cafe Columbus, OH Here are another few snaps and vids. As far back as forever ago, Kyle Gass (@theactualkylegass ) has been a name in my life. Late night in the late 90s at my sister and now brother in law’s house, there he was. My brother and cousins had their self-titled on repeat. So it was such a treat to watch my bud @spacecub play music with the man, both as part of Mt. Air (@mtairmusic ) and as bass player for the man himself at @rumbacafeoh . Turns out, a Mt. Air set is truly a beautiful experience—still unique but in dialogue with Elliott Smith, Blonde Redhead, and maybe Built to Spill? Go see them (stand out recorded track: Shoveling). No regrets. The rock n roll Americana of Gass’ music was a draw but seeing an artist dip so close to their fandom, spiraling in the crowd to let them be near him, and he them, it was just an iconic moment. #tenaciousd #kylegass #ohiomusicscene #rocknroll #bigdreams

*** Nine Inch Nails Boys Noize February 20th 2026 Columbus, OH Schottenstein Center I was just looking back at some shows I caught this year. I typically wouldn’t post a tour this big, but NIN is really special for me. Oh and @boysnoize is awesome. Modular synths are going places. Living my teenage years in the 90s, I of course always liked @nineinchnails ; but as the decades changed, the conditions have changed and I see Trent Reznor so much more as a synth nerd doing big things. Busy life. I am so glad I was able to step out of it on a Wednesday night to see two of my favs at @spacebarcolumbus . Collector of Dust (@_collector_of_dust_ ) showed off some new compositions—beautiful extensions of the band concept. I know I say it every time but, Reon, that voice!
