When we started this project, it was intended to be a strictly Atjazz & Fred Everything affair.
But as the music took shape, it became clear that this album was destined to be bigger than the two of us.
On release day, we’d like to introduce you to our “8 Days” village.

'Line In The Sand' is the second single from Atjazz & Fred Everything’s forthcoming album, 8 Days. It features the angelic vocals of Ernesto & The Basement Gospel (@ernestoandthebasementgospel )—the moniker of Swedish singer, songwriter and producer @jonatanbackelie —widely known for his collaborations with renowned producers including Jimpster, Beanfield, Andreas Saag, and, of course, Atjazz.
The instrumental foundation for the track was written during the original 8 Days studio sessions that birthed the album. The production draws heavily on iconic synthesizers such as the Prophet-5 and Korg’s Mono/Poly, paired with live rhythm sections and a warm bassline.
Ernesto brings his distinctive soulful delivery to the forefront, supported by the rich, self-layered harmonies of 'The Basement Gospel.' The result is a beautifully crafted piece that serves as a love letter to the golden-era electronic soul sound of the late ’90s and early 2000s.
