The only thing better than the food at the @post.newnham were the great chats with the wonderful head chef @frederickpage - who welcomed us in to his restaurant like old pals.
How special is it to be able to go to a Michelin recognised restaurant and have a chinwag with the head chef about his gorgeous family, and all of the lives we lived before ending up precisely in Newnham yesterday morning, together with a coffee? I’d say 11/10 very special.
Oh and also for Fred to say - yeah ‘course, get your camera out!
Calling all chefs!
We have a full time opening at Post for someone lovely to join our small, close-knit team. We are a happy bunch who love what we do and are proud of our work. Ideally looking for a chef with a solid grounding in quality kitchens, but always happy to train the right fit.

Post has been awarded a Bib Gourmand! Sitting very proudly amongst a brilliant list.
The biggest thanks to the absolute DREAM TEAM and thank you @michelinguide for such an affirming recognition.
📝 From the listing:-
“Simplicity is often at the heart of a great Bib Gourmand restaurant, and that’s certainly the case at Post. A proudly run place, it’s completely lacking in pretension in both the informal service and the pared-back cooking. With good ingredients and strong classical technique, the chefs clearly know how to maximise flavour.”
Excited to be included in @goodfoodguideuk ’s first-ever Restaurant Month, showcasing the very best restaurant set menus across the country.
Restaurant month takes place from 13 January - 13 February and our set menu will be updated online each week.
1 course for £18, 2 for £25 and 3 for £30, including a glass of something delicious on the house.
Available for lunch + weekday evenings.
Our usual À la carte will run alongside as usual. And Sundays continue to be reserved for our Roast sets.

We’ve made it into The MICHELIN Guide 🍾
To see that red circle land at Post feels like a big ol’ cherry on the top of a tremendous year, and testament to the immense work of our brilliant team. With thanks to all of you who come and eat and drink with us, including our loyal regulars. To those of you further afield, wear out those Michelin tyres and drive on over…
I love how much we loved the same thing. You will forever and always be my favourite person to discuss food with, and I’ll miss that. But I’m happy I was one of the lucky ones who got the chance.
Thanks for everything.
Love Fred xxxx

One of the ‘coolest’ places to move to in 2025, Newnham’s recently elevated reputation rests more than a little on the opening of this fantastic boutique bistro and bottle shop. Beautifully restored from its previous incarnation as a Post Office, the formerly derelict building remains artfully distressed yet very stylish. @post.newnham owners Ben Thomson and Florence de Maré are both successful designers, and it shows. Head chef @frederickpage , most recently of Marle at @heckfield_place , commands the room from behind a high-top counter surrounding his open kitchen.
