Back with some wall posts. This was from the last time @anacathie and I painted overseas, before the whole world got locked down. Reminiscing the chill days in Bandung eating good food, meeting friends and painting. Tsukuyomi no Mikoto.
Another wall from 2020. This one is a personal favourite of ours and features another Moon Goddess with her pet stone dragon creature.
Absolutely loved using these colours.

Finally got time on my hands to work on the illusion fox, Zoroark. While the design has always been cool, I find myself appreciating it more as I drew it. This is also the first dark type in this series of Pokémon drawings. Enjoy!

Child of the Straits (2021)
Entitled ‘Child of the Straits’, this was painted in the Kampong Glam area where immigrant merchants first started plying their trade selling textiles in the 19th century. It is an area rich in culture and has grown to be a tourist attraction in modern times.
This piece invites the viewer to reflect on their identity as a child growing up in Singapore, where cultures intersect, languages intermingle and traditions influence one another.
We had a blast painting this piece over 10 quiet nights with intermittent heavy rain. Truly a memorable experience for the both of us.

The Mystical Dragon Fish. Process video in reels.
Painted this massive mystical Arowana, also known as the dragon fish to accompany @anacathie ‘s sitting girl. It represents positive energy and good fortune for businesses in the vicinity.
I truly appreciate the times when Ana and I can fully push our styles while still complementing each other. A large surface like this one was a pleasure to work on.

Child of the Straits.
This was painted along Ophir Road during the pandemic era, when streets were empty and devoid of nightlife. It was a calmly surreal experience painting deep into the quiet of the night while the city gently slept, only stopping when we were greeted by the Sun. Definitely an experience we won’t easily forget.

I originally planned to do a set of 3 but I kept adding more Pokemon to my list. Scizor from Gen 2 has always been on that list but it turned out to be tougher than I expected. Simpler forms are sometimes the hardest to play with. Hope I still did it some justice here.
I know Scizor doesn’t fly. He just hovers here!
I tend to get burnt out doing a series back-to-back, so I really might take a break from Pokemon for a while and draw some other things to recharge creatively.

Drawing another Fire/Fighting type Pokemon that is easily one of my favourites. It definitely helps that his theme is already cool to begin with so it was a blast to work on.
Can’t help but think of my friend @antz_rscls while working on this piece. He draws dope monkeys and would probably do a killer job with this Pokemon. Would love to see it one day, boss!
Building up a neat little collection of illustrations so far. Wonder what I should draw next..

Last post of 2025! Honestly thought I was done drawing Pokemon, but then I recalled having Hawlucha on my squad and how much I loved that little fella. Lines and ideas flowed smoothly for this one.
I am lazy and hate learning anatomy, but working on these few Pokemon gave me a good reason to pay a little bit more attention to muscles. It’s a great way to trick myself into learning.

Blaziken is definitely one of my top five all-time favourites. Always found him cool with the flaring legs. Ken Sugimori is a genius.
Drawing a continuous series like this gets progressively harder as I go. I feel like I’m slowly trapping myself into a corner with my own silly constraints. Tried really hard to portray this Blaziken as a warrior in a field of flowers, but I took way longer than I wanted. Also, Pokemon look deceivingly simple but can be really tough to draw (for me at least!)
In any case, drawing these guys made me work a bit harder on figuring out anatomy, since I typically draw machines most of the time.
Might take a break and draw simpler stuff hopefully!
