It has been an absolutely crazy season, and we appreciate every single one of you for making it happen. To our mentors, who spend endless time organizing, coordinating, sharing their knowledge, and keeping us in check. To our sponsors, y'all know we could not have done anything without your support. To our school, who supported our journey and cheered us on. To Johnson & Johnson for sending our robot to Houston and Chris Padwick (MA Bears) for making sure Maelstrom came back.
Thank you all for an incredible, incredible season. We'll see you next year 🫡🫡

While we were in Houston, we also spent some time at a couple meetups!
Our team participated in a SWENext event where we showcased our girls project, Lime Launcher, to SWE’s CEO and HQ staff amongst other FIRST SWENext clubs. We also went to a FIRST Like a Girl ambassador meetup. It was an amazing experience getting to connect with so many other people from across the US and around the world, and we were proud to represent our team at these events! We loved getting to share exactly what we’ve been working on and hear from others who are just as passionate about getting more girls involved in STEM. It was definitely a highlight of the trip to see such a huge community supporting each other.

Last week, our team was given the opportunity to compete at the FIRST World Championship in Houston! In just a few weeks leading up to the competition, we redesigned our entire robot from a single fixed shooter to a drum. Our new robot, Cart2cus, doubled our shooting speed and drastically increased our EPA as well. We competed alongside 600 strong teams across 8 divisions, and ranked 24th overall in qualification matches in the Galileo Division. We competed in the playoffs as first pick of Alliance 2, alongside our alliance partners, 5913 - Patriotics, 10980 - The Deadbolts, and 4607 - CIS. After lots of close matches, our alliance was eliminated in match 12 and finished as division semifinalists. With 36 students having gone, we had some amazing work being done by everyone in scouting, drive, pit, media, and awards.
While at the championship, our team also attended a SWENext meetup where we showcased our girls project, Lime Launcher, as well as a FIRST Like a Girl ambassador meetup. We were proud to represent our team at these events! We would like to thank our alliance partners as well as the thousands of volunteers who made this event possible! Worlds was an incredible experience, and we hope to go back again soon.

Last week, our team had the incredible opportunity to participate at the Northern California District Championship. We competed against 60 impressive teams, and ranked 10th in matches overall! We were alliance 7 captain, alongside our alliance partners, 4698 - Raider Robotics, and 6962 - Antares. It was an amazing experience, where over 35 of our team members did an outstanding job in pit, drive, scouting, media, and awards. Through our hard work, we managed to qualify for the FIRST World Championship! We are so excited to have the opportunity to compete, learn and grow there. A huge thank you to our alliance partners and all of the hardworking volunteers who made this event possible. We hope to see you at champs!

Earlier this month, our team participated in the Moreland Middle Open House, inspiring the next generation of engineers with our 2022 FRC robot Wade Jones. The students learned what it's like to be part of an FRC team while parents found ways to involve their child in our summer STEM camps. The kids were introduced to fabrication, electrical, and programming. Thank you to the MMS staff for this opportunity!

One week ago, we brought our 2022 robot Wade Jones to Marshall Lane Elementary school for their STEAM day. We had a great time interacting with the kids and sharing our love of FIRST and STEM. Thank you to the parents and staff of Marshall Lane for giving us the opportunity to expand our outreach to a new local school.
