Lately, it feels like every headline about New Orleans is asking whether this city has a future. We disagree. Join The Water Collaborative and @glasshalffull.co for “We’re Not Leaving,” a Dance & Dissent Party bringing together community, conversation, music, and collective joy in the face of climate anxiety, political uncertainty, and the nonstop doomscroll cycle. ✨ DJs 🌊 Waterside Chats 🤝 Community organizations 💛 Space to connect, organize, dance, and breathe Because New Orleans has always responded to hardship through culture, resistance, and each other. We’re not leaving. 📍 Hotel Peter & Paul @hotelpeterandpaul 📅 May 29, 2026 🕖 7 PM – 10 PM 🎟️ Free admission | Donations encouraged but not required (RSVP with 🔗 in bio)

I have more thoughts… maybe I will share soon but for now can we stop with the doom and gloom please. That literally gets us nowhere. There’s not gonna be anywhere safe from climate change with the path we’re on. Stop telling us to move and let’s talk about implementing real solutions.

Our co-founder & CEO, Franziska, spoke on the main stage at GulfCon this week! She shares how Glass Half Full’s vision has shifted over the years to include Gulf Coast and even national expansion. Thank you @gulfofamericaalliance for organizing the conference and panel!

What if waste wasn’t the end… but the beginning of restoration? As coastal ecosystems continue to disappear—and with them, their ability to protect us—new ways of thinking are emerging. Like the one from Franziska Trautmann, who saw in something as ordinary as glass an opportunity to restore what we’re losing. Through Glass Half Full, discarded bottles are transformed into sand used to rebuild wetlands, protect coastlines, and strengthen communities against disasters. This isn’t just recycling—it’s redefining waste, design, and impact. Because sometimes innovation isn’t about creating something new— but about seeing what already exists… differently. Waste is not the end of a story. It’s a design failure waiting to be reimagined. 🌍

Happy earth day from some of the newest land on earth 🌎 out here in Bayou Bienvenue. We planted marsh grasses and trees on our two new islands about a month and a half ago and they’re already looking great!
