Honored to have our home “Ballotina” in Tulbagh featured in @houseandleisure ‘s latest edition “Embrace”. Founded in 1699 as the fourth European settlement in the Western Cape, its architecture was grounded in the emerging and unique Cape Dutch tradition. Almost completely destroyed in the 1969 earthquake, the government quickly rallied to restore the towns buildings and its legacy. Now it boasts the largest number of national monuments in the country, most situated on Church Street. It seems fitting then, that Belgium’s @ateliervierkant considered a renewed Ballotina as an inviting, living platform in which to present their sculptural clay vessels, made by hand using historic techniques. One of our favourite homes in a very special African city, is that of architect Lisa Rorich whose beautifully restored modernist marvel of a house harks back to a time when design was about defining a new way of living - when the lived experience and architectural aesthetics were not mutually exclusive. And when longevity was an ideal worth striving for. A valuable reminder in these times, which is why we are so thrilled that Foster magazine @fostermag.zine has chosen this 60-something year old home for their second issue, bravo! 👏

As we step in to the year ahead, we are grateful for the many wonderful collaborations of the past year, including the deeply satisfying joy of working with @frankfeatures and photographer @elsa47 , who brought a unique perspective to Kåseholm, as profiled by @goodlife_wohndesign_magazine in their latest issue. May the year ahead deepen these special relationships and bring new adventures to this magic carpet ride. #modernscandinaviancountryliving #goodlife
This time last year we had just returned from an incredibly inspiring trip to Sweden, where we photographed the spectacular Kaseholm. A place that is so much more than the sum of its parts. A farm stay, an artist-in-residency programme, a multi-disciplinary design studio focussed on food, art and design, and the Northern Exposure Design centre where an extraordinary collection of furniture, homeware and art is sold. And last but not least, the Forum - a teaching and knowledge sharing institution that is based on the reality that our food system is connected to almost everything we do, at all scales and with downstream effects in ways we often don’t anticipate. To this end, Kaseholm collaborates with Michelin Chef Daniel Berlin to create events that tell stories, challenge our taste buds whilst provoking conversations that will lead to change. 👊 @kaseholm@kaseholm_forum

It’s hard to imagine that the Ibiza home of British fashion diva Deborah Brett and her writer/director husband Tom Edmunds, was once the wild card in a quartet of homes they were shown to buy. As Deborah recalls, it looked like something out of the Netflix series Narcos.
Not any more. Today the home they share with their three children is a glamorous yet grounded space, a celebration of all that they love about the Balearics, and value in life. ‘There is a wildness here - in the smell of the pine trees and the red dirt roads - that offers a necessary contrast to our life in the city,‘ says Deborah. The creative couple enlisted the help of interior designer Hubert Zandberg, who had worked with them on their London home. ‘I knew that Hubert would be brilliant at scaling the interiors up a notch, to make our ideas bolder and more sassy.’ And how! The home is glamorous, dreamy, timeless and utterly inspiring. See more in the latest issue of Marie Claire Lifestyle Australia @marieclaireau@by.hzi@deborahbrett@mrtomedmunds
