In August 2025, JB Balingit and I launched a mission at @tropa_eats in Lafayette with one goal: to prove that nothing unites people quite like food and music. This isn’t just a business for us; it’s rooted in our culture. In a Filipino household, every gathering is defined by two things—a massive spread of delicious food and a shared microphone. We created Karaoke Dinner to bring that exact soul, connection, and “house party” energy to the community. Now, we are taking that mission to the legendary stage at Yoshi’s Oakland for a special Tuesday night takeover on June 23. 🎤✨ I truly believe that food and music are the ultimate universal languages, capable of bringing people of all backgrounds together. To share this experience with you in such an iconic setting is something special. What to expect: ⚡️ The Vibe: High-energy and inclusive. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a “shower-singer” who just loves a good time, this night is for you. Attended the Busta Rhymes + J Dilla listening party for Dilla-Gence 2 and boy, a time was had! Big Von on the decks playing nothing but hip hop classics for the real ones - in true Cream of Beat/Sunday Service fashion. Definitely the tone and vibe! I knew right then and there we were about to wyle out. Listened to the entire Busta-Dilla project, thoughtfully curated by Busta himself. All I’m gonna’ as a lifelong Dilla and Busta fan, this was a complete HOME RUN, lead off out the park type shit. For my Baydestrians, the Dilla Busta feat. LaRussell joint is CRAZY! What a night!
