Transformation of the Senses
A collaboration between artist Mathias Hanin and violinist – composer Yury Revich.
We explore a simple question: Can the sound of the violin be seen and felt?
The concept of our creation and performance is to give sound visibility and with it, to give visibility to artists and composers whose work was once “invisible” due to their ethnic origin or gender.
Using a vibrating speaker membrane, paint moves directly with the live resonance of the violin. The music becomes a breathing sine wave, imprinting its rhythm onto the canvas.
Our first session, The Sound of Blue, resulted in 10 unique moments captured in colour and sound.
