The It Ball 03 - Archive of Memories.
I often find myself tracing the threads of where it all began.
My father reading newspapers every morning,a quiet ritual. He was the one who introduced me to Shakespeare’s sonnets…
I remember the old school office with its worn out wooden desks with rubber stamps on it. I remember playing with dolls and folding paper boats in the monsoon, sending them down the little streams that the rain made on our streets.
This outfit carries all those memories within it. I’ve repurposed old drag outfits and stockings, pieces that have travelled with me through stages, stories, and identities. Every fabric, every seam was carefully chosen to construct the costume - Deconstructed, just like our memories - fragmented and frozen but it’s alive somewhere.
The silhouette, the drama, the romance of it all,is my love for John Galliano. I have always been, and will always be, a Galliano Girl. His work taught me that fashion can be memory, rebellion, poetry, and theatre of it all at once.
And so this look isn’t just an outfit — it’s an archive of who I’ve been, stitched together..
The entire costume was hand stitched by the one and only master
