Last week at Madison Square Garden, we shared A Day to Forget, A Day to Remember with two incredible families, surrounded by the energy of the New York Rangers and the kind of atmosphere that makes everything else fade for a moment. For a few hours, the noise of the crowd replaced the noise of appointments and schedules. Smiles came easy. Laughter felt normal again. These are the moments we hold onto.
This day was made possible alongside our partners at Tackle ALS. This work is always better when it is shared, and this day was a true collaboration rooted in the same belief that families living with ALS deserve moments of joy, connection, and relief.
A Day to Forget is about letting go, even briefly. A Day to Remember is about what stays with you long after the final horn. We are grateful to stand alongside people who show up with heart and intention, and we will keep doing this together, one memory at a time.
Seven years ago, my father-in-law, Tim Green, started the organization Tackle ALS. The money raised by this organization helps the Sean M. Healey & AMG Center for ALS at Massachusetts General Hospital develop therapies that repair or reverse damage caused by ALS and ultimately prevent the disease entirely.
Seeing how Tim has courageously handled his ALS diagnosis makes this cause personal for my family and me. To help raise money for this cause, I will be donating $1,023 for every goal I score and $523 for every assist I tally during the 2025-26 season.
