I’m very excited and honored to announce that I’m the recipient of a 2026 Jim Henson Foundation Grant. 🌈
It is a dream come true, for me, to have my art associated with someone who has been an inspiration to me since I was a child.
Henson’s legacy is one of truth, love, community, and creativity. He was a one of a kind creative, that never fit cleanly into any artistic box…but forged on ahead, creating a world of magic, humor and empathy for us all.
This grant is going to the creation of my newest puppet show “Untangling the Snare”, a southern, feminist folktale that reimagines the cycle of domestic abuse. Anthropomorphic marionettes create a world where women discover the strength, magic and sisterhood to escape their oppression.
Huge thank you to @saladiazsatx for being my sponsor for this grant. They will debuting the workshop of this puppet show in the fall. Thank you Sala Diaz for all the work you do for our San Antonio community. 💗
Thank you to my fellow collaborators for this upcoming project. @so_was_mj@jjlopez74@bygoezubiate
And huge thank you to @casielomeli for always believing in my work and helping me (and so many other artists), put their ideas into artistic action. I wouldn’t have gotten this grant without your support and brilliance.
Happy Valentine’s Day!! Puppet Power!! Love Wins!! FUCK ICE!!

Finished these healing sisters right in time to head home to Texas tomorrow. 👯💧🌈
There will be so many things I miss about Berlin, the art, the bookstores, the bread. Mostly I will miss some special people I was so lucky to meet here 💗. But I know I will back.
I feel ready to dive back into the Texas heat, my community, my plants and to continue the work I started here. ✊❤️🔥🌱

Guenther Street Apartment Appreciation Post
I cleaned and turned in my keys to the place me and William have called home for 6 years. This house held me when I needed a safe place most. Post-divorce single momma with a 2-year old during a global pandemic.
The backyard, sweet landlords and access to the river saved our lives.
It was the first place I ever lived on my own; it was the container for a time in my life when I was trying to find who I was again; as a single person and mother after a 15 year relationship. That first small efficiency apartment was so cute and cozy, it was a place I could truly make my own. I had a small table by the window where I first drew the pink bad bunny.
I was proud of myself for being able to later afford to move into the larger apartment on the other side of the house. I had financially stabilized a little bit and was working a job I loved. The house grew to fit us and welcomed us again .
The home had what will probably be the most beautiful studio I’ll ever have. Giant windows full of light, and high ceilings. The house nurtured me creatively for years.
The backyard hosted birthdays, parties, fire pits, post party smokes with friends and gave me space to fall in love with plants.
I found a baby sock when I was cleaning today. And cried when I washed off little handprints on some of the doors. I have so many great memories from this beautiful place.
I’m excited for the next chapter in our new place, that has more space. A big room for William, and more space to explore puppetry. And a big back yard for Eevee. New house studio sale and house warming coming soon!
But I’m also feeling very nostalgic and thankful for the years we spent on Guenther. 💗 Thanks to everyone who built memories with me there. 🫶
