Thanks to everyone who came out and packed the @paradiserockclub on Saturday in Boston! We had a great time making you sadly deaf from that day forward. It’s always nice to see pals @gail_greenwood_official@jentrynin@deanfalcone and the indestructible @kayhanley and all the great people at @qdivisionstudios and tbh most of the evening was performed by expert players the Hot Stove All Stars long before we took the stage. A great night for a great cause, the Foundation to Be Named Later @ftbnl1@mlb_hotstove
Special thanks to @ginaromantini for joining us on this show, and to the choir who really did their homework: @thegladmachine@tim_brewer_art@tamarindmami@_little_fury_@cifellipants@mtahaney and flapper @sarahjohnson6
Thanks for the terrific photos @trebmalphoto
The event was made all the more remarkable by our heroic friends at Q Division, who successfully brought one of their own back to life the day before in a dramatic cardiac event that cut short their pre-show rehearsal and was certainly on everyone’s mind as the show went ahead. Joe McMahon is still in critical condition and his friends started a GoFundMe to support his medical treatment, which you can find the link in our bio.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Nantucket!
Neil Sedaka’s music meant so much to me when I was a kid, and when Adam and I met in college we quickly bonded over stuff we could sing harmony on: Beatles, REM, Everly Brothers, Neil Sedaka. We were both honored to sing with Neil at Joe’s Pub in NYC about 20 years ago, an occasion that necessitated a rehearsal in Neil’s apartment. We were met at the door by a kind man in a robe and slippers who led us past a giant Warhol of himself to his piano. He knew Stacy’s Mom and some of our other songs and where they peaked on the charts, which I didn’t know (Adam probably did). I am grateful for Neil’s kind words when we lost Adam. RIP to one of the original masters.
