Last weekend saw the 10th anniversary of @horrorconuk at @magnascience and a myriad of amazing cosplayers descended on the event.
I have finally finished the edit of the videos I took over the weekend, and i am pretty damn pleased with it!

It's been a long time coming, and he's still only about 30% complete!
I have finally finished chatterers head, made of silicone with a servo driven chattering mechanism and absolutely no ability to see or breathe, this is definitely fun to wear.
This has been a steep learning curve for me, and hasn't been cheap, but I'm so incredibly proud of what I've accomplished so far. I wanted to do a show off video just to prove that he does exist, and I haven't just disappeared off the face of the earth!

We spent the weekend in LA at the 30th Anniversary celebration - Salute to Xena by Creation Entertainment. In between the fantastic talks and panels, I was able to snag some of the amazing cosplayers to get some footage. Unfortunately there were so many other incredible cosplayers that I just didn't manage to catch, but hopefully this gives you a taste of the level of talent and dedication on display.
This was also the first real test of my camera and I realised I screwed up the filming profile afterwards! Another lesson learnt!

"In Duviri, our Dax are not flawed, mortal flesh and blood. They are legends given form."
When I first saw the trailer for the Duviri Paradox in Warframe, I immediately fell in love with the style of the Dax and the Kaithe. I knew it would only be a matter of time before I made my own version of it, and while I've been saving up for supplies for Chatterer, I finally got around to it.
The Dax and Kaithe are resin 3D printed from files made available by Realpitchers on Cults3D. I rigged them in Blender into the pose I wanted, and printed them. There are so many details and overhangs, that I am shocked that it all printed with no issue, although getting the supports off was a challenge!
I decided to go for an orokin paint style, not really visible in this video, there is a metallic metal shine in the recesses, with an Orokin ivory main colour and metallic gold highlights.
I sculpted the base from some old SuperSculpey and painted that with a metallic black scheme, to keep the weird dream like feeling of Duviri.
First attempt at filming with my new camera, lots to learn, and spending a bit more time on it may have helped, but I'm still happy with it!

Raccoon city has been over-run with the walking dead. STARS member Jill Valentine teams up with UBCS operative Carlos Oliveira in an attempt to escape the city and evade a creature code named nemesis.
This was a challenge learning to edit with limited footage, the majority filmed on a phone, in a very short filming period with no real plan. I've definitely identified areas I need to improve my workflow based off this, and this is by no means anywhere near what I'd consider a product I'm happy with, but it's the best I can do without almost reshooting the whole thing.
