It's slightly layered above your design, so they give the keychain this beautiful parallax effect ❈ MIRROR ACRYLIC KEYCHAINS These are so reflective ♡ I love how the designs lay on the surface of the mirror, it truly makes it pop out! ❈ CLEAR PET BOOKMARKS I made a mistake when trying to layer this stained-glass effect behind Rick and Vograce team was so helpful fixing it! The result is so beautiful when put against the light ♡ ❈ STICKERS I ordered a set of transparent stickers, which shocked me with the level of detail despite their size! I was also slowly heading down a bad mental health path and felt very lost and isolated, like I didn't belong and never could belong in this world. This story really gave me a sense of purpose, this feeling that tomorrow might be fun, because I'll be writing about them My dream back then was to animate the little scenes I was writing about with them. That was the ultimate dream of mine, above money, jobs, anything. Just to one day create a fully original animated scene with these guys Fasting forward to just three years shy from two decades later, I have taught myself how to animate, I enrolled in two different art schools, I have an art job of my dreams, this beautiful, incredible community, and I feel like I finally know who I am. I also know for a fact I wouldn't be here without this story. It singlehandedly changed the trajectory of my entire life I now also officially have my first fully original book scene ❤️ and while it may be just a silly animation to everyone else, this little vid would be enough to make baby Fosc know it'll be okay in the end, that all the work and all the tears really are worth every second. When Maggie lost her mom and Rick lost his beloved wife, they both went through two completely different grieving paths. Maggie was the direct witness to what happened the day Loretta died and had the potential to stay truly scarred for life, but with the help of her aunt and Rick, she was given all the possible help she possibly could have needed. Rick, on the other hand, was held in jail as a suspect. He missed a very crucial part od Maggie's grieving, so once he was finally released, he put all his efforts into keeping Maggie safe, happy and healing while, sadly, neglecting himself for a long time. He's contemplating whether he should get his head stuck in those window bars until he has to be rescued and he can take his chance to escape the hospital by just... cane slamming and bolting tf out of there. Like a rational person would, obviously. Jokes aside, I got asked a lot what the inspiration for Rick's story and the characters is and I can wholeheartedly tell you it's just all the times I looked like this HAHA which sounds depressing, but I don't want it to be. Mental health is a shitshow and it genuinely isolates you in a room full of people. It takes away every single speck of joy and, even when you get out of your slopes, even when you get diagnosed, get medicated, do the therapy and all the right fancy things you're supposed to do, it sometimes still feels like the very best you'll ever be able to do is slap your brain back in place when it inevitably tries to drown you. It's something I often like to explore through Rick when the narrative alloes it. He's many things and I always love to draw him in his stupid goofy villain moments, but at his core, he was a very sad man. He was sad enough that he wished to eradicate injustice and grief wherever he spotted it in blind hope it would cure his pain when, deep down, he knew there is no way for a single man to do so unharmed. It was a vicious cycle of "justified" self-destruction he never seemed to fully get away from, as if he believed there simply was no point in him living if he was to give it up. Danny is Rick's favorite chewtoy 🤲❤️ he won't admit it but he loves to come around his old workplace just to piss him off Danny (the dude that's screaming haha) was brought in as Rick's replacement as a deputy chief after Rick started becoming fairly vocal against the police headquarters and the corrupt leadership in charge and, ever since, Danny has been haunted by Rick's ridicilously vengeful presence, which is truly not a place anyone would like to be in. That's not even because Rick is particularly dangerous, oh no. #MyOC | One of my favorite lore bits about Rick that rarely comes up in the books is his endless beef with his first door neighbor Collins. Collins is literally his mortal enemy that he is at constant war with and has been for DECADES lmao For some context, Collins is an 80 year old bitter man who has lived next to Rick ever since Rick and Loretta first moved to Willow Estates (suburb in Grimport) and he absolutely HAAATES Rick with a passion. Collins really didn't love that a foreigner moved next door, he didn't like that Loretta married a foreigner, and he especially didn't like that Rick ended up in a relationship with FJ some years after Loretta's death. Collins is just a nasty, judgemental old man. Rick, however, is a petty man above all else. He also has no shame and and has no problem wasting money ans healthbar points to make people who don't like him even more miserable lmao. He also had a longer period where he was very wasted very often and made a lot of choices that seemed funny at the moment, and this was one of them 😭 Moral of the story, just don't make enemies with Rick. ❤️‍🩹☹️ always a sad day when I have to acknowledge book III Rick had way too many close calls when it comes to dying to really count at this point (such is a life of a self-destructive vigilante with grief to spare), but road accident of '81 was by far the closest he got to actually doing it. It was a miracle he pulled through, and my personal theory is that he truly survived out of spite alone, but none the less - he was in a rough shape, which tells you a lot considering how rough his shape already was at that point :,D The saddest part to me, however, isn't the accident itself. I'd argue the injuries, as horrific as they were, would have been easy to get over had there not been for everything else, for the reason the accident happened and the lath that revelation would lead everyone down. It was the point at which everyone had to ask just how unlucky a single person can be until they realized horrific fate like Rick's wasn't a coincidence. It was far from it. The worst part by far, I'd say, was how much the accident changed how FJ saw himself. First honest confession ❤️‍🩹 Rick had a lot of trouble connecting with anyone since his wife's tragic fate. It's one of those things that ultimately alienated him from the world, not because no one was there to help, but because his grief began to eat away at everything around him. It was all he thought about, all he existed to feel, and the outcomes of that situation further proved to him that he couldn't trust and couldn't forget. It got so bad that he began to wear his wedding ring on a different finger just so he wouldn't be reminded of this pain that now entirely took over his life. FJ's unfortunate situation became Rick's concern in kind of the best moment. It allowed him to move on and think of something else for a moment and, eventually, it led to a friendship and a partnership he didn't even allow himself to crave.
