Eurydice 🐍
A nymph in Greek mythology, and wife of Orpheus, she was bitten by a deadly viper whilst trying to escape the advances of Aristaeus. Orpheus later travels to the underworld to save her, which Hades allows on the condition that he must walk in front of her and not look back until both had reached daylight. Just before they reached the portal, he couldn’t resist turning to see her, causing her to vanish back into the darkness.
