During Milan Design Week
@formsophy presented their new work 'Aurea'.
Made from aluminium, pink quartz and onyx, the lamp measures almost 2,5m in height and 55cm in width. Here, as part of the exhibition at the Baggio Military Hospital. 'Aurea' is a sculptural light object, delicately working with the shimmering light reflected by the stones.
Formsophy is the artistic practice of Alicja Prussakowska and Jakub Kijowski, focused on textures, materials, and the stories they carry. Combining traditional and experimental techniques, the duo creates sculptural objects that merge a primal aesthetic with refined detail.
Inspired by the fluidity of liquid aluminum, they treat casting as an essential part of the creative process. Their works, defined by a strong, autonomous presence, reflect what they call romantic brutalism—a balance between rawness and refinement, boldness and subtlety.
