ANNOUNCEMENT: SCARY PIECE OF WORK
Sydney Opera House Presents in association with Performance Space
Produced by FORM Dance Projects
Fear is everywhere
Choreographer Martin del Amo takes on one of our most primal emotions: fear. The result is a strange, darkly funny solo performance blending intimate storytelling and compelling movement sequences. Spotlights stalk the darkness. Sound erupts without warning. Even his own voice begins to distort.
As Martin navigates ever-shifting terrain, the stage itself seems to conspire against him, building into a vivid fever dream – Fred Astaire meets Nosferatu at Eurovision, with Hitchcock as MC.
Step into a world where fear is never what it seems. Enter at your own peril…

VICKI VAN HOUT BLOG - Flora, DUELS and That's Two, Thank You.
Catch up with Vicki's latest reflections on a busy month of performances.
'In the space of a week I witnessed three dance performances beginning with the mammoth production that was the collaboration between the Australian Ballet and Bangarra Dance Theatre to present Frances Rings' Flora followed by two performance programs in That's Two, Thank You and DUELS, both produced and presented by FORM Dance Projects, which packed an equally big punch. What can I say, except that there was certainly something for everyone this past month.'

VICKI VAN HOUT - Blocked Duwar by Feras Shaheen
Catch Vicki's latest blog post as she heads out to watch a new work by Feras Shaheen, Blocked Duwar.
'So many of Feras' artistic choices resonate with me as an Australian Indigenous dance maker. From the orientation of the stage with the cyclorama facing Jonny Scholes as game designer, much like the traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dance settings whereby the performers face the song men and percussionists. Like traditional dances I am invited to perform in front of the general public, little explanation was given regarding our engagement with the game, which was in full swing shortly after we sat.'
