New @castlepasture single “Meredith Hunter” from the album Shed is out today! With a music video directed by Ross Harris (@teardrop_estates ) starring Aaron Longesleeves (@aaronlongsleeves ) based on the real Meredith Hunter who was killed in 1969 by the Hell’s Angels while they were employed to do security by The Rolling Stones for their Altamont Free Concert. An event often sighted as the end of an era of hippie idealism.
You can listen to the full album Shed on bandcamp, where 100% of proceeds will be donated to The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (@chirla_org ) until April 1st. Meredith Hunter is streaming everywhere today, but the full album will be on DSPs in March
“Shed” my third LP is available to listen in full on bandcamp today! 🐊 100% of proceeds from now until April 1st will be donated to @chirla_org (Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights)! Just the first single is on streaming for now. Full album will properly be out everyone in March.
This album was written and performed with the incredibly talented @trevorcoleman93 and @vidaldreamworld ! I’m often humbled by their creativity and musicianship!
Huge thanks to @joeyoaxaca who engineered and mixed the record at his studio in Cypress Park. I’ve loved working with Joey so much the past couple years :)
Huge shout out to @ruustysantos for mastering the record! I’ve been a fan of his work for such a long time, and it means the world he was willing to help with this record <3
Big thanks to @reedkanter and @sienagedwards for helping me distribute the album!
Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined it, but I’ve had the opportunity to start a new magazine with Barry McGee and Sorat May Andersen!!!! The inaugural issue of Healing Arts Journal will be debuting at the LA Art Book Fair next week! There are three alternate covers of The Soft Power Issue are also available to pre-order through the @heavymannerslibrary website! This has been such an incredible experience, I even had the chance to interview the director of Yoko Ono’s studio for this one! 👀
Shed (the full album) is available to stream everywhere now! Last single from the album, “Hair Trigger” has this alternate cover I made. Had so much fun writing this song with @trevorcoleman93 and @vidaldreamworld . Our next show is on 4/21 at @oblivionlosangeles@livefromoblivion !
New @castlepasture song out on streaming platforms inspired by my late friend and former roommate Robert Wolfe (@brakyardgames )! What an incredible soul the man was! He used to make so much paper mache when we lived together, and it has been wonderful to reconnect to that through teaching paper mache to other people lately! 🕊️
Last week and a half was a movie, for real! Still processing it all. Can you tell I was crying right before the first pic was taken? So grateful for such a beautiful life with so many beautiful people that I’m lucky to share it with :’’’’’’’’’)
So stoked to be helping organize an Anti-Fascist Zine Fair for Barry McGee’s 99 Cent Store exhibit with @jeffreydeitchgallery this Sunday from 12-6! We’re hoping to have a big zine swap, so come bring zines to trade with other attendees! We are also bringing our Risograph Printer and a Photocopier to help print art and zines on the spot! We encourage artists to make their own flyers for the event and spread the word! Pull up!
@castlepasture release show going down on 1/30 featuring performances by @mo0d.4u , @emilyyacina (solo), and @salome.hajj ! Celebrating the release of the new song and music video by @teardrop_estates “Meredith Hunter” starring @aaronlongsleeves ! (Plus this is basically going to be my 30th birthday party) 🥳 So pull up! Free to attend, but we’ll be raising some money for someone with donations! RSVP in the bio
Today would have been my Dad’s 60th birthday! It’s wild to think what the past 11 years would have been like if he were still around. But I’m so grateful to have known the person he was and witness how much he meant to so many! I’ve had lots of serendipitous reminders and allusions to him this past week, so it’s hard not to believe he’s still pulling some strings from beyond :’)
I’ve been revisiting a lot of Wilco recently, as they were one of his favorites! We were lucky enough to see them open up for Neil Young when I was in high school.
