SUFFER is out today on @dka_records ⚙️🥀 digital + limited cassette tapes are available on bandcamp i’m excited to have this record out in the world and into your hands. happy to let it go from my clutches and can’t wait to see how it takes on a new form SUFFER was not only an experiment in writing and producing for me, but also a push for me to continue performing. i was practically done with it all - burnt out and frustrated. then a hurricane hit our little mountain town and i was forced to truly start over and reevaluate my life and art. i miraculously was able to save the hard drive where some of these songs had been taking shape. after a few months off from creating, i began again. what i realized is i still have the drive and passion for music all the same, i just needed to learn how to have fun with it again. experimenting, trying new techniques, and simply getting better at writing music all kept me going, and sane. after performing a few new songs live for the first time, i knew i had to keep going. fast forward a year+ later and we have SUFFER. a release i’m truly proud of and a project that gives me drive to get up everyday and create. i would not have made it to the finish line without the help from my friends. thank you to @korndogs for encouraging me day to day even though i know some of these synth lines are burned into your brain forever having heard a million versions of them from the other room. thank you @xor_music for giving me feedback and ideas that truly made me a better producer and feel like these songs were ready. thank you @cervid.ae for being a constant force of encouragement and kindness in my life. thank you @snouted.creature for always rooting for me, your endless listening / feedback sessions, and giving me the confidence to sing into a damn mic. thank you @alex_farrar for your recording and mastering skills, and for believing in this project and helping me more than you know. thank you @dka_records for seeing something in me all those years ago performing in atl and wanting to work on this release together. there are more of you that have motivated me, but this core group got me here and i’ll forever be grateful!!
