Allow me to reintroduce myself 🤍
I’m Tai - blogger, creator, traveler, mum, finance & investment professional... and the voice behind Foodie in Lagos.
I started this journey in 2013 with a simple blog. 13 years later, it’s grown into a full platform, a beautiful community, and yes — now a food festival (twice! 🎡)
December 2025 was a whirlwind with our second festival, so I took January to rest, recover, and recalibrate. Now, I’m back and ready for another year of honest reviews and delicious discoveries.
This page will always be about the best eats in Lagos, but it’s also about the balance of building things that last while navigating “real life” behind the scenes.
If you’re new here, welcome! 🫶🏾 If you’ve been here through the evolution, thank you for staying. It’s 2026. We’re moving gently, but with big intention. Let’s eat well and build beautifully🥂

MasterChef Nigeria Episode 3 — The Breakdown by Tai
Episode 3 of MasterChef Nigeria was all about redemption and what an episode it was! 🔥
Just when we thought @_fads MasterChef journey was over, she returned to the kitchen for a comeback challenge and absolutely delivered. Not only did she fight her way back into the competition, she also won the challenge of the day and walked away with a ₦2 million cash prize. Talk about a comeback story! 👏🏾
In this recap, I break down:
- The redemption challenge and how it worked
- Why Fads’ comeback was so satisfying to watch
- The standout dishes and biggest moments
Were you rooting for Fads to return? And do you think she can go all the way this season? 👀
Watch my full recap on YouTube for all my thoughts and reactions.

Sometimes the pieces you’re most hesitant to wear end up teaching you the most about your personal style.
What’s one colour you were surprised to discover actually works for you?

Masterchef Nigeria episode 3 - the tension was too much! Favy 😩 - breathe! Was so happy to see Fads back in the Kitchen and ah ah David report to the naughty corner now 😂😂😂

MasterChef Nigeria Episode 2 — The Breakdown by Tai
Episode 2 felt more settled and I’m really starting to enjoy the rhythm of the competition.
First of all, the fashion!! 👏🏽 The chefs came dressed DOWN.
I also enjoyed how personal a lot of the cooking felt. Challenges tied to memory, inspiration and food stories always make for the best moments.
Some standouts for me:
• David continues to impress
• Demi’s creativity stands out every time
• Isabella’s warmth still comes through in her dishes but need to see more Nigerian inspiration
Production quality is still very strong and the overall storytelling continues to shine.
Another solid episode overall 👏🏽
What stood out to you from Episode 2? 👇

Seeing vendors from GTCO Food Festival say people came because of my recommendations honestly made me really emotional.
This is genuinely the reason I started Foodie in Lagos; to spotlight amazing food businesses and help people discover them.
Sometimes when you create content consistently for years, you don’t always realise the impact until moments like this.
Thank you to everyone who trusts my recommendations and thank you to every vendor working hard behind the scenes.
