📁 𝐅𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐟 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐯𝐞: 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐚
In the early 1990s, Yanek Iontef designed one of his very first typefaces: Case Sera Sera.
Inspired by the deconstruction trend in graphic design, each letter combined uppercase and lowercase forms into a single hybrid shape.
The result was a freeform, unexpected structure that played with legibility and visual hierarchy.
The font was released in three styles: Light, Bold & Italic, and was published on Fontef’s first website.

Mandatory Variable is a bilingual type family inspired by posters from the period of British Mandate in Israel. The new variable version equips the family with a contemporary technological toolbox, and gives the designer a rich range of weights and widths, a new Latin designed by Anna Khorash ( @horashann ), and various stylistic alternatives.

מנדטורי וריאבּל ספסימן
משפחת אותיות דו־לשונית בהשראת כרזות מתקופת המנדט הבריטי בארץ ישראל. טיפוס האות שממנו צמח מנדטורי היה נפוץ במשך עשרות שנים בבתי הדפוס המקומיים כאותיות־עץ בגודלי כותרת, שיוצרו ברוחבים שונים. מנדטורי מתאפיין בפינות מעוגלות המאזכרות אותיות עץ שנשחקו בשימוש, בצורות אותיות אייקוניות ובריווח בטעם של פעם. אלה מעניקים לו חזות ידידותית ונגישה, שהודות לה הפך נפוץ במיוחד בנוף הוויזואלי המקומי.
גרסת מנדטורי VARIABLE מציידת את המשפחה בארגז כלים טכנולוגיים בני־זמננו, ומעניקה למעצב מנעד משקלים ורוחבים עשיר, לטינית חדשה שעיצבה אנה חורש (@horashann ) ואלטרנטיבות סגנוניות. זו אות המעניקה לנו מנדט לצעוק, מנדט לבכות, מנדט לקום, לרקוד, או סתם להביט אחורה בערגה.

עיצוב מושן - טל אוליאל
השבוע הגיעה לסיומה ב״כאן 11״ הסדרה התיעודית ״המו״לים״, שסקרה את ההיסטוריה של העיתונות הכתובה בישראל — לרבות המאבק ארוך השנים בין ״ידיעות אחרונות״ ו״מעריב״.
עם סיום הסדרה, נזכרנו בפריט המעניין הזה מתוך האוסף הפרטי של ינק יונטף — מסמך שהפיקה מחלקת המודעות של ״מעריב״ בשנת 1973, לרגל חגיגות 25 שנה לעיתון. במסמך מפורטים טיפוסי־האות וסגנונות הקווים שהיו מצויים אז בדפוס ״מעריב״, לשימושם של גרפיקאים המעצבים מודעות לעיתון.
