This shrimp and avocado salad is our take on a classic seafood salad — inspired by Swan Oyster Depot in San Francisco as well as Galatoire’s in New Orleans. Sweet, cold shrimp tossed in a bright remoulade, paired with creamy avocado and crisp romaine. Simple and fresh.

🏆Southbound Food Festival is proud to announce Chef Anne Quatrano as the 2026 recipient of the Frank Stitt Award for Industry Excellence, which honors individuals whose work preserves, celebrates, and shapes Southern foodways. Chef Quatrano will be recognized during the festival’s signature kickoff event, the Heritage Dinner: Chicken and the Egg. This year’s theme—Chicken and the Egg—was chosen to reflect and honor the remarkable work of Anne Quatrano, Chef/Owner of acclaimed Atlanta restaurants, including Bacchanalia, @starprovisions and forthcoming @summerlandfarms ! At the core of all her restaurants lies a commitment to the land and the inherent flavors locally and lovingly cultivated produce and products bestow. She steadfastly supports wholesome wave, local organic growers, and much of what she serves at her restaurants comes directly from her own Summerland Farm in Cartersville. The farm, which has been in her family since the mid-1800s, provides a homestead and a steady to-do list for Quatrano and her husband and longtime business partner Clifford Harrison, along with an ever-growing menagerie of animals, including horses, cows, chickens, ducks, turkeys, many dogs, and a pig named Hamlet. The menu will celebrate her enduring philosophy of cooking from the ground up, where ingredients are not just components, but the starting point of a deeper connection to land, season, and sustainability.
