Orion and I will be following the party arc, last float of the Rhody Fest Grand Floral Parade, down to Memorial Field. The great Danny M will lead a community gift giving program, and we’ll play a lil 20 min set of familiar tunes from The Fenbi International Superstars repertoire!

Some pics from the natural bounty surrounding my neighborhood in #Gresham. Had no idea when we bought the house I could take 30 minutes and walk up and down a butte on a solitary trail with flowers, plants and animals in abundance. Also had no idea that venues like @thescoutgresham and @hoppy_brewer would be welcoming me into their venues with open arms with no demo tapes, just my usual braggadocio. Will be at Hoppy this Friday, April 24 from 6-9pm - no charge!

I’ll be performing my heart out for 3 hours! Give Viv a mic, and who knows what will go down at this weekend’s special pouring! 🎤 Viv here to invite you to join us at@thescoutgresham in downtown Gresham on Saturday, April 11, for a collaborative event with my dear friend Mike Phillips and his @folkefire musical project. 🍷🍷 It’s ‘A Tale of Two Tempranillos’ featuring a side-by-side tasting of RAM Cellar 2023 VIV label White Tempranillo and our 2023 Tempranillo, plus a bonus pour or two. 🎶 But wait! That’s not all! Enjoy the folk sounds of talented musician and overall delightfully fun human, Mike Phillips! Mike and I first met each other way back in 2003 as freshmen at Washington State University, and I’m honored to continue to count him as a dear friend today. Plus! The Scout will have a few bottles of RAM Cellars Tempranillo for sale, and special glass pours of both wines. This is going to be an amazing evening of good wine, great people, and wonderful music. It would mean the world to me to see you there to hang out with some of the best folks I know, and yours truly as well. 🗓️ Saturday, April 11 from 5 - 7:30 pm The Scout Wine Bar at 25 NE 3rd St, Gresham, OR 97030 #folkmusic #livemusic #portlandevent #gresham #winetasting

Anyone who knows me knows I’ve had an affinity for Bosnia for quite awhile. I was there 14 years ago as they commemorated 20-years since the end of the Bosnian War. April 6 is an important date in Sarajevo. It’s the date in 1992 when Bosnia became independent and the Siege of Sarajevo began. In 2012, when I visited, they put 11,541 red chairs down their main boulevard to memorialize the victims of that illegal siege and to ask if the international community remembered their promises and obligations. Sadly, we all know how that story goes. But I do not forget, and the story is a reminder of a lesson that some of us have forgotten in America. This April 6 I’m calling on all of us to learn about, remember, embrace and carry the torch of the Spirit of Sarajevo - a defiant, proud, beautiful people that chose togetherness and unity over divisive, militant chauvinism - and that ultimately won over the forces of darkness that seek to pull us backwards, though the struggle never ends. By the way, the song I’m overlaying was played everywhere I went during that visit - highlighted one night in the ProRock Johnny rock’n’roll bar - everyone in the bar joined together singing during the chorus part - quite magical ☺️

St. Paddy’s Day was great this year. I missed performing with old buds, but I got to make memories with new buds from @ghostsintheclover , got to see pals including JT, Andy, Steph and Jon; Kiyota and Mahina - and marked 20 years performing at the @dublinpubpdx , ran into a former member of the iconic band Darby O’Gill, traversed across town through an hour of traffic while listening to the @historybytheglass podcast about the Dublin Pub, and performed a set at @edgefieldwinery to a raucous and friendly crowd - including two sets of friends that drove from each Port Townsend and Bend to hang out. My pal @the.stepho opened the set with three lovely covers, including two distinctly Irish songs to get people in the spirit. Four hours of singing is tough on the bod, or the throat more specifically - but I’m thrilled to move my sights onto @thescoutgresham and @hoppy_brewer for more #gresham gigs in the next month or so! Also thrilled to break all Instagram conventions by writing novel-length posts! Special shout out to my wife for taking care of our baby son while I traversed across town like a carefree freight hopper!
