i’m very happy to share the artwork i designed for the new release by @trois_quarts_taxi_system on @maloca.records its been quite a trip since i saw Trois-Quarts Taxi System playing for the first time, at @refractor.festival last year. i was there with my friend @le.motel , experiencing one of the best shows of the festival (the recording is on soundcloud). le motel directly knew he wanted to invite eloi on his label and i knew i wanted to work on the visuals. the music was so expressive, deep, intriguing. months later, the release is here and its gorgeous. the full lp will be available on 18/02, but the first track is already out (the one of this post). i loved digitally painting this artwork using a tool that’s not really made for it #touchdesigner but one that brings a lot of surprises and accidents, to compose the still visuals like one would compose music. to illustrate Trois-Quarts Taxi System music with words, here is a paragraph from @niqhniqhniqh : “The first single, Coil, delivers no-nonsense, dancefloor-focused optimisation, framed within Trois-Quarts Taxi System’s broader storytelling sensibility and electroacoustic approach to sound design. Gasps of debris-laden impacts call out before the arrangement folds into a compressed, airless chamber of containerised percussive pulses and lopsided curls of decaying synth tone. Anchored by a broken-beat techno lattice, the track remains sub-heavy and resolutely minimal, with eroded bass forms slowly forcing their way to the surface.” listen and pre-order: /album/scarecrow

Mycelium Studies. Ongoing research on co-creation with mycelium. The root networks of fungi, called mycelium, tend to grow in all directions in search of nutrients, information, and new encounters. How can we influence these movements, and what visual language should be established to enable a collaborative artistic piece with mycelium? To guide and be guided. A large part of the beginning of this research involves setting up the appropriate tools. For these initial steps, I developed a network in @touchdesigner software that allows me to generate 3D shapes from 2D patterns, ready for 3D printing. These 3D prints are then placed in the bottom of a Petri dish, ready to receive the mycelium. The mycelium can be rhizopus (tempeh) for rapid growth and prototyping, or reishi for longer growth and deeper development. For the latter, @md.b assisted me with the inoculation, in order to properly prepare the environment and ensure that any contamination remained in the final pieces. The @domingoclub open-source fermenter then maintained an ideal temperature of 23.5°C for more than three weeks.

Probably the biggest project I've worked on this year, a collaborative piece with my friend @le.motel , and my debut in the audio-visual field. I'm so glad I embarked on this journey Le Motel travelled to Vietnam, capturing sounds and images of daily life, landscapes, and encounters along the way, which he later used to compose the album Odd Numbers. He entrusted me with all the video footage—ranging from iPhone clips to professional shots—to create a 30-minute video piece for an exhibition marking the album’s release. This looped installation, running for six weeks, marked the beginning of our collaboration on the Odd Numbers project. Odd numbers are sometimes lucky numbers, sometimes macabre, but always important and procedural in vietnamese culture. By converting images to odd numbers and typographic signs, Odd Numbers invites the viewers to consider another lecture of the images, where the sense is sometimes revealed and sometimes lost. One's mind can explore a blend of tradition and modernity following Le Motel's musical trip. Immersive installation in collaboration with artist Le Motel. The exhibition took place at 254forest in Brussels, Belgium from 23 January to 2 March 2025.

Mont Aso 阿蘇山 32° 53′ 04″ N, 131° 06′ 14″ E Kyushu - Japan I’ve been working on a new project with volcanologist Corentin Caudron, the artscience platform @ohme_projects , and visual artist @focus.404 to present an immersive audiovisual performance. Together, we’ll transform the Earth’s hidden vibrations - field recordings, seismic data and magma movements - into a continuous flow of generative sound and image. An intense sensory experience where telluric forces come to life through hypnotic pulses and ever-shifting visual landscapes, at the crossroads of the sacred and the ecological.  See you on Saturday 18.10 at @iselp_brussels during the @museumnightfever * 8.00-8.20 pm * 9.00-9.20 pm * 10.00-10.20 pm
