We are excited to welcome Ukrainian artist Veronika Moshnikova for her first solo exhibition in Basel.
Moshnikova’s artistic practice unfolds through painting and drawing as spaces of memory, perception, and emotional resonance. Her work explores the subtle inscriptions of time, addressing fragility, transformation, and the layered relationship between inner experience and visual form.
For this exhibition, she presents works from the series Sensitive (2024) and Time Record (2015–ongoing). While Sensitive reflects on vulnerability and the nuances of perception, Time Record takes shape as an ongoing visual meditation on memory, duration, and the passage of time.
Her broader practice engages with themes of loss — including the loss of home and identity — alongside reflections on cultural trauma, processes of assimilation, and the dimensions of time and space. In this context, Time Record functions as both a visual archive and a form of documentation.
Moshnikova received her M.A. from the Department of Graphics and Visual Communication at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznań, Poland (2010–2015), and later completed her Ph.D. in the Department of Painting and Drawing at the same institution (2015–2020). She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally, and her work is held in both private and public collections.
She lives and works in Zurich, CH.
