Designed by architect Todd Saunders @saundersarchitecture , the Fogo Island Inn reflects a vision of ethical, sustainable development — blending striking modern architecture with a deep commitment to community and environmental stewardship.
Twelve years ago, Azure Magazine @azuremagazine partnered with the Fogo Island Inn for its opening. I worked on that project, and it took me all this time to finally visit a place I had only ever seen through images — an experience well worth the wait.

I wasn’t born in Canada—I came here because I met someone special, the mother of my daughter. My roots may not have started in this land, but they have grown strong, intertwined with its culture, its people, and its spirit. Canada may not be perfect (if a perfect country truly exists), but in the last month, I have never felt more Canadian and proud to call it home. 🇨🇦🍁
