The Masked I - Trailer ACT 1: Throughout his life the Professor has been obsessed with a question: What does it mean to be a masked body? In his search he laid the ground for quantum mechanics, had his heart broken by Max Planck and traveled the galaxy in his search for the perfect black body. ACT 2: Oh, to be a flower! The Professor ate flowers as a child, and now has turned into one. He is here to tell us jokes on jokes on jokes. I hope you choke on them! ACT 3: The Professor reveals himself. The fall of 2024 comes to a close and it’s a marvel: At @_munnen_ we opened three exhibitions, hosted parts of programs for the Vaginal Davis exhibition @modernamuseet for @indexstockholm , the Climate Festival and the International 2 Sides Short Filmfestival in collaboration with @fetfilmstockholm . In addition I have been hosting our local radio station Tungan with an ongoing program, filled with contributions by locals, friends and artists + an upcoming kid’s program. At @blackarchivessweden I have continued to support our founder @jonelle.twum , chaired the board, worked with fundraising for our newly opened space and saw the opening of our exhibition in collaboration with @skaneskonst and accompanying symposium with key note speaker Tina Campt. I am in the midst of wrapping up my time at the Alma Script Academy with two feature film scripts and a series under my belt. Very glad to now be represented by @grandagency.se My short film Black Square had its long awaited premiere at Uppsala Short Film Festival. On the same day I presented my performance The Masked I at Röhsska Museet. I thank each and every one who I have come across in any of those endeavors for their trust, generosity and efforts. Eagerly I look towards 2025, which promises to be a challenging year but this is the time to really double down on good and nourishing work. Bon Courage ❤️

Welcome to my performance lecture: The Masked I – @rohsska the 25th of October as part of Kulturnatta. “It seems impossible to summarize the life of one of the greatest minds of our times in one evening. Nevertheless we invited the Professor to lecture on his work within physics, in particular his groundbreaking research on black bodies, the foundation to quantum physics, which he conducted together with Max Plank in 1914. For the first time the Professor reveals personal details which have inspired his work. His story of having been abandoned by his Ethiopian family in south Germany in 1888, the masks he had to create and bear in order to survive and his secret and fatal love affair with Max Planck. With a broken heart the Professor departed into space in search of the ultimate black body. Many years later he returned from his intergalactic travels, still a young man, with an answer.” The performance lecture is an excursion into what it means to be a masked body. It does so by using different masks, poetry and the body. It is part academic, philosophical, comical and sorrowful excursion.

My ghostly whimpers have echoed through distant valleys, over snow covered peaks and into sticky glasses of wine. I wonder what voice you hear when you read this text - is it yours, mine, or someone else’s, maybe a person to us unknown, or faintly forgotten, that we have conjured together?
