This work is called Small Pet Dog.
It is one of a few works that were inspired by Carlos, my little dog brother. Since 2009 he has been a little jump of joy in our family’s life. Sadly, last week Carlos had to go on his next little adventure. We’ll miss this little hero. Almost 17 years of sweet memories will be ours forever.

SECONDroom: Filip Collin invites
123 Piano - Tomáš Predka, Maxime Fauconnier & Nadia Naveau
Text by Luc Franken:
123 Piano takes its title from a children’s game known across cultures under different names but played according to the same simple rule: move forward when allowed, freeze when commanded. Even in stillness, the body remains charged with intention. Muscles tense, balance shifts, desire presses against restraint. The game stages a subtle tension between action and suspension, between wanting to move and being forced to stand still. This latent energy, this state of arrested motion, forms the connective tissue between the works presented here. Filip Collin invites three artists whose practices engage with movement across time, matter, and space, each freezing a moment that seems on the verge of continuing.
Like the game that lends the exhibition its name, 123 Piano proposes movement not as linear progress but as a continuous negotiation between advance and restraint. Individual trajectories unfold within a shared direction. Falling, stopping, starting again, all are part of the motion. The exhibition holds these moments in suspension, asking what remains alive when everything appears still, and what might happen once no one is watching.

Installation views of “6815 MINUTES”, an exhibition together with work of Nienke Baeckelandt and Maxime Fauconnier. Three pieces forming a delicate dialogue within the space of Spasss.
“Cygne” (2025) is a neon glass sculpture that represents a carrier or bringer of light: a signal on still water, a gesture.
Alongside work of @nienkebaeckelandt “Hybrid Skin Surface” and @maximefauconnier “On a cliff above the house (David Wojnarowicz #7)”
Thanks to @eleonorebonello and @renaud.b for their help @spasss

Inspired by the building that hosted @temp.antwerp ’s latest exhibition, this collaborative piece by @brentdecraene@flpcollin and @dimitrisiokis brings together elements of our individual practices into a single work, focusing on the layered structures and traces embedded in the architecture of a space in constant transformation.
Summer clean in the apartement makes me rediscover some older works - happy to see this one again. Seems like a good representation of the rhythm of this summer.

For the invite by Backspace for their exhibition ‘Spacial (Re)Awareness’ in their newest space in the Kapelstraat in Hoboken, my mom and I took the occasion to make a little tour through her hometown. Perfect chance to get some insight into her childhood. My mom grew up in the Kapelstraat and it felt nice knowing I am now part of that street’s history too. After her guided tour, I showed her around the show where Ralph took this beautiful picture of us.
“Flowers For Jupiter I & II”, 2020, collage, acryl in oak frame.
Thank you @ralphleeten for the nice memory.

Marketing gimmick or not, today is Blue Monday, often referred to as the most depressing day of the year — typically the third Monday in January. We saw it as the perfect opportunity to feature Filip Collin’s Blauw-blauw in the front room of the gallery’s current display. Filip is blessed with a mild form of synaesthesia: when he sees or comes up with a form, he “feels” the matching colour. It can explain why colour plays such an important role in his oeuvre, often in surprising shades and combinations. While Filip is widely recognized for his neon artworks, he has also created remarkable collages like this one. In 2020, author and art critic Vincent Van Meenen explored Blauw-blauw in an article published in the art magazine HART
