This month’s artwork for The Grove Post was all about wildlife - noticing the wildlife that has been increasingly surrounding us as spring emerges. They’re little messengers - small passing reminders that we are not separate from the world we move through.
Animals have often found themselves into my work, many times blending with the human body, and helps me understand our place in the natural world.
To complement the trees theme of my art print club, I painted a woodpecker who makes their nests in dying or dead trees, giving the oldest of trees yet another purpose. There is so much notice around us as the world wakes up.

MEDUSA - a retelling in fire, concept and choreography led by Pyromancer Melody Kay
This is not the story you were told. This is the version where Medusa is not cursed for someone else’s violence because Medusa was never the villain, she was the survivor.
In this version told through fire, Athena saves Medusa. Poseidon does not define her. The curse becomes a crown. The exile becomes a sisterhood. She finds her power, she finds her sisters, she finds her fire.
Bringing Medusa to life to this level at Portland Winter Light Festival was a really special moment. From the choreography, beautiful storytelling, live music by the lovely @_theam , you could feel the feminine power building. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who made this happen and helped us tell this story through fire ❤️🔥
