FLOW turns 5 this summer and we’re throwing a free party to celebrate!
Come join us at Tap Social on Saturday 13th June from 4pm til late for an extended session of quality tunes on our soundsystem, local beers and pizzas.
We started FLOW parties in Summer 2021 when, as a group of music lovers still hanging around in Oxford, we found true underground dance music with no permanent home in the post-Cellar days.
Following some woodland parties with our home-built sound system, we found a venue for monthly club nights in the small, sticky cocktail bar of Spirit on Park End street.
Only a handful of friends came to those first events but gradually the event gathered some traction among the ebb and flow of students in Oxford and some loyal locals looking for a night out aiming beyond commercial chart music.
Along the way we’ve invited some wicked dj’s to play, too numerous to list here, and forged our own take on house, techno and trance that’s always aimed at the positive, free-flowing and energetic. There’s too much anguish in the world for grumpy dance music!
In the last couple of years Chris started FLOW records in Common Ground, providing a kind of permanent outpost for underground dance music lovers and seekers of friendly vibes in general.
We’re glad to have thrown these parties in Oxford, a place we love and call home. Here’s to the last 5 years, to the ups and downs, and to the good times ahead!

Nestled in the Cowley side streets lays this old pub turned speakeasy bar on an Alice in Wonderland tip!
Bringing our speakers and a fresh take on bumping, groovy house music we’ll be laying up tunes from 19:30-00:00. 100 cap venue, £5 OTD! Come get involved in a free-spirited Friday night soirée for the curious.

In this brief fallow period in FLOW’s calendar of events, @djwat_tyler brings us a mix to soothe the Wintry blues. A blend of downtempo Balearic chug, global folk influences and hippy house. Thank you to all that came and danced at our event last weekend with @gnarly___j it was one of the most bumping flows to date. Music was a joy from start to finish. @gnarly___j is not your average house DJ. His passion for music led him to develop a voracious nerdiness in order to find some deeply moving tunes and when he plays, the J puts all his heart and talent into his craft. Once he gets you into the party tunnel, you won’t want to get out of it until you cried on the dancefloor.

We return on Saturday 15th November with our first international booking! Joining us from rural France is @gnarly___j who’ll be crossing the channel with a weighty bag of eclectic house grooves excavated from the soul of dance music. Known for rocking dancefloors around Europe, we can’t wait to bring this fine selector to Oxford.
As always a strictly wax affair powered by Oxford’s chunkiest independent sound system. Joined on the night by FLOW resident Lil’ Cam, come for community feels and a promper stomp to unwind and elevate your spirit as we head into Winter.

This time we welcome @delareef to grace the decks, the spanish-born, London based DJ and record seller who we met organically through his many trips to @flow___records in @commongroundoxford 😇
As someone truly in command of his musical vision, Javier has shared the stage with dance music royalty (Underground Resistance and Jane Fitz) and held court at some of London’s most prestigious dance halls (Fabric, Lion and the Lamb). With him you can be sure to enjoy a sonic tapestry of the best of house, techno and trance weaved lovingly from his soul.
It seemed fitting for Chris Barrance of @flow___records to provide the warm up to honour this meeting of musical minds!
A noteworthy upgrade is the addition of a four point speaker system, so you can dance in circles, enjoying the music in any direction.
