My dad was born in a tiny island in the middle of Lake Maracaibo called Isla de Toas.
@angelica_alvarado__ shared this photo with me. It was taken in her family’s backyard. My dad tells me he learned to read on those grounds. There were 3 schoolteachers in the family who taught him how to read and write his name.
