👾🕹️We were at @fact_liverpool for the re-opening of the ‘Art Plays Games’ exhibition, featuring new work by @mattallenart that he created as part of his digital residency with FACT and supported by @dadafest ✨
Last week I was super busy helping to deliver the 2nd annual @bfdqueerfilmfest 🎬🍿
It was an amazing programme featuring some brilliant films and we were lucky enough to have such lovely audiences to share them with.
@hungry_sonia created an amazing 3-course meal inspired by the one and only Peaches that we served during a screening of the documentary THE TEACHES OF PEACHES 🍑
On Saturday evening we set up a screen with help from our friends @pavilion_leeds at Go Bowling in Shipley, where we watched DEATH AND BOWLING on the lanes, followed by unlimited games of bowling! 🎳
Other highlights for me included the opening film LAYLA featuring a Q+A with Director Amrou Al-Kadhi, the brilliant TOPS by @ames_pennington_ and the tour-de-force of a closing film QUEENS OF DRAMA/LA REINES DU DRAME 🎤 🌟

I’m officially obsessed with Apple Day at Bowling Park Community Orchard in Bradford! 🍏🍎🐝
Lovely afternoon chatting to volunteers and collecting some fun field recordings of apple juice being pressed with the @edible.archives gang as part of our @britishlibrary and @bradford_2025 supported project 💛🩷💚
🫧Drinking St George’s Hall🫧
A lil throwback to June! This was when we got to try our first test batch of flavoured kefir water, guided by the legend that is Gavin @culturessaltaire . Each drink was inspired by moments in St George’s Hall’s musical heritage.
🌹Raspberry & Rose (fresh raspberries and rose water)
🥭Bhangra Bubbles (mango kulfi)
🫚Bassline Bangerz (pimento, rhubarb & ginger)
Drinking St George’s Hall was presented as part of BD:Fest on Saturday 27th July, 2024.
Check out @edible.archives for more info and keep in the loop with our next projects!

Now here’s a blast from the past! When I studied Performance Design, my final degree show was a devised performance piece created in collaboration with students from the Theatre and Performance degree. This was a highlight of my university experience as it enabled me to work alongside other students as a collective of performance makers, where I was able to challenge pre-conceived or traditionally-held notions of the role of a theatre designer within a creative devising process. It was a project where I felt able to truly champion my passion for experimental, cross-disciplinary and design-led performance making, as well as exploring the overlaps between theatre, film, live art and digital-based practices. We also had a live feed camera and a Foley sound table!
I also created a pre-show installation piece with sound and scent that the audience could interact with, before they entered the performance space via the stage, to become fully immersed in the ‘inside-outside’ 🪟🌻

🎷🕺SOUNDS OF NEW BRIGGATE🍹🎭
Really thrilled to be able to announce my involvement in Sounds of New Briggate by @eaststreetarts - a podcast series hosted by local people, telling local stories, all of which celebrates New Briggate, a unique and vibrant high street in the heart of Leeds.
This oral histories project was community-led, written and researched by people with knowledge and lived experience of the social and cultural histories embedded in this street.
This podcast series is part of the Hidden Histories of New Briggate project, supported by @leedscouncil and @historicengland as part of the New Briggate High Street Heritage Action Zone regeneration programme.

📷 taken by me of a limited edition risograph print series of a queer manifesto that was created in collaboration with @hclaytonwright and four LGBTQ+ groups – Gendered Intelligence, Leeds LGBT+ Forum, Sage Men’s Group, and Angels of Freedom – to envisage a future that is brighter, safer and queerer.

I volunteered @leftbankleeds this morning assisting with the Healthy Holidays session funded by @leedscouncil . Kids yoga with Rosie, pizza-making, then finishing with a wonderful art workshop led by Bea where we made sculptures inspired by the work of Aaron Curry!

This week I am working as a invigilator and guide for Extreme Unction Vol.2 by Nwando Ebizi (@nwando_ebizie ) @eaststreetarts . A ritual journey for a small audience in a COVID-safe, geodesic dome structure.
This work is an hour-long ritual of sensory immersion, stimulation, and relaxation. It is inspired by the Anchorite ritual that would have welcomed 12th-century nun, artist, and mystic Hildegard von Bingen into her monastery as a child, and by Nwando’s research into neurodivergence, Afrofuturism, and bathing and purification rituals from around the world.
A multisensory feast of light, sound, touch, taste, smell, and movement, leaving you invigorated and transformed.
