Sometimes, the best shots are not just about the gear, but the patience required to capture them. @floressss_wild spent nearly an hour in the cold at the Old Port, waiting for the perfect moment when a Grey Heron finally took flight from the historic waterfront.
In a situation where nature does not follow commands, having the right technology is essential. Using the LUMIX S1RII, he relied on the SH20 Pre-Burst mode to ensure that the fleeting second of the heron spreading its wings was not lost. This feature allows the camera to begin buffering images before the shutter is fully pressed, providing a vital safety net for unpredictable wildlife movements.
Paired with a 150-600mm F5-6.3 lens, the setup allowed for a close-up perspective while maintaining the distance needed to respect the animal’s space. The result is a powerful reminder that photography is often a lesson in humility, patience, and accepting what the moment gives us.
