"GONE FISHIN" One of my most near and dear acrylic paintings. I still remember painting this one around 2017. I had finished it, gone to a baseball game, and when I came back, it had completely blown up on reddit beyond my wildest dreams! For a while this painting seemed to define the whole flooko thing as everyone was using it and then I immediately saw a huge trend in people creating very similar astronaut fishing images. Next thing I know, everyone under the sun was posting astronaut stuff. Reddit was wild back then. Getting to the #1 spot on the front page meant millions of people saw your work, which is a blessing and a curse. A blessing because now everyone knew me.. but a curse because now all the trend hopping people starting copying the whole thing and oversaturated the place with similar work. Now sites like Etsy are just a dumping ground of similar Ai generated images. Interesting times, for sure. Who remembers this one?
