As we melt into the Autumn season and come to the end of Black History month, I continue to reflect on the journey I have taken in the art I create. FLO CHÉ was an offering to those who came before me. Those who no long are physically here but rest in my heart forever. To black artists who create through softness, care and community. To black femmes who adorn themselves in order to show up authentically in all times of life.
Silence has been important to understand but now as we shift seasons we share. We come together. Thank you Autumn.
I am ready to share offerings now. So eyes open for FLO CHÉ this Autumn/Winter season.

Reading Rest is Resistance by Tricia Hersey @thenapministry allowed me to acknowledge the lack of Kindness and self care we give to ourselves. Through creating the pieces shared in the past weeks I realised that this book influenced the softness within the movement of the garments and the making of the garments. The reference above by Danielle McKinney embodied this feeling. Freedom, freedom from "male gaze". Freedom from pressure of this world. Freedom from the capitalism of it all. To just be exist and know we are worth all the same.

To be in @retold_book what a blessing.
It almost represents a end of the academic chapter and beginning of real life. Years in the making and now out it represents the next chapter. The first publication that FLO CHÉ is part of that will make it around the world. Wow!! An archive, collection of memories for us and those who come after.

Loved making these boleros are another moment of 2025 I have loved. Being able to create simple, versitile and yet unique and fun garments is something i have been experimenting with behind the scenes.

Fear of decision - is it right is it wrong?
Fear has been a leading factor of alot of my art and being creative human alone is uncertainty. So I want to lean into the unknown and show more of me as the artist and my art.
That's the only way I can truely know if this is for me.
