Wednesday, May 20 ✦•··········•✦•············•✦ FLINT BLADE Flint Blade weaves sonic textures for the ecstatic dance-floor and beyond to create uplifting soundscapes live in the moment, with a special hybrid set combining live DJing and spontaneous live-looping for a unique ecstatic journey of the soul. Channeling inspiration via electronics, beatbox, vocals and various world instruments, Flint has made a name for himself by mastery of the Chapman Stick — a rare instrument most people have never seen before. Invented in 1969 California, the Stick combines bass and guitar into a full-range fretboard played exclusively by two-handed tapping; conjuring rich tapestries of sound full of whimsy and wonder. Integrating live elements with electronic production, Flint is known for his live-looping journeys which he performs for festivals, ecstatic dance, flow jams and all kinds of spaces.
